Hakone is everything that I could ever dreamed of. A small mountain town known for having the views of Mount Fuji. A gloomy weather welcomed me, but it created a melancholic ambiance that felt like I was in a Murakami novel.

The colorful blooms along the railway. The train and cable car rides. The kawaii little cafes and craft stores around. Staying at a Ryokan and having a hospitable and funny host. Bathing nude in a public Onsen. Lake Ashi. Hakone Shrine. The foggy and dramatic weather at Hakone Port. I could go on and on, but these are some of the moments that I will forever treasure and recall when I think of Hakone.
